We are officially two weeks away from the beginning of the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.  Yes, as I write this, it’s Wednesday at 4:30pm.  And yes, the tournament does start on a Thursday, but if you factor the 8 hour time difference, it’s technically Thursday already in Scotland, so… two weeks.  

So far, I don’t know what pro I’m playing with, which courses I’m playing on which days, or what the exact itinerary is for the trip.  All I really know is I need to get to Scotland, and my favorite travel companion (Linsey) is coming with me.

Upon reflection, I have extremely warm feelings towards Scotland.  Maybe having freckles, reddish hair, and a ginger-colored beard is apt to make someone naturally feel at home there. But I’ve always loved Scotland, and I don’t really know why.  I have only had the privilege to be there twice, and both trips were quick in-and-outs to play shows… never having much time to properly explore and experience the culture.  This trip is different.  I’m definitely excited to play in the golf tournament, if you know me, that might not be needed to be said.  However, I am even more excited to be able to spend a good period of time in an area that I have always loved from afar… and to be able to do it with my best friend feels like it might be too good to be true.
